Build Lebanon Trails "Peterson Butte Hike"

When: Sat, April 14, 9am – 11am

Description:

Peterson Butte, just west of Lebanon, provides some ofthe best views around the valley. Thanks to the kindness of the owners, BuildLebanon Trails is allowed to sponsor a hike to the top of this landmark butte.

This hike covers a distance of 2.5 miles with anelevation gain of around 1,000 feet. Most of the walk is forested. The trail ismuddy in spots. There is usually poison oak along the route, so keep an eyeout. Note that weather can change more quickly on the butte.

Bring snacks or a lunch to eat on top of the butte whileadmiring the beauty of Lebanon and surrounding areas. Don’t forget your cameraand binoculars!

Children are welcome.

No pets for this event, please.

Wear appropriate hiking gear and please consider if youare in adequate physical condition to walk both up and down a steep trail.

Please respect the land and the privacy of the landownersso we can continue to hold this hike in future years.

Please arrive between 830am-9am for registration.

Where to meet:

Follow the BLT signs to the parking area, and from therewalk uphill to the kiosk to register.

Parking is limited; please carpool if possible.

Driving directions:

At the bend where Airport Road becomes Denny School Road,veer onto the small road leading west towards the butte, which is also DennySchool Road.

Albany Downtown Wine Walk

Enjoy tastes from at least 21 different Oregon wineries and the ambiance and atmosphere of beautiful Downtown Albany at the Rotary Club of Albany’s Upstairs Downtown Wine Walk, Friday, May 4, 2018 Sample the latest vintages from local wineries as you stroll through downtown shops and restaurants. Hours are 4 to 8 p.m.

Admission to the Wine Walk is $15, which includes a Wine Walk wine glass, and five scrip tickets (redeemable for five tastings), a hand stamp and the map of the participating merchants and wineries. Additional tickets are $1 each and are sold in bundles of five.
Proceeds of the Wine Walk help support several charitable causes, thanks to the Rotary Club of Albany. And everyone loves to take a peek inside the hidden spaces visible only during the Loft Tours.

Brownsville "Carriage Me Back to 1918"

CARRIAGE ME BACK TO 1898 IN BROWNSVILLE, OREGON A somewhat historic, always enjoyable, community drama of life during a specific year in the rich past of historic Brownsville. Dressed in period costumes, local actors take on the personalities of colorful historical characters. Visitors ride in an open, horse-drawn carriage from the Linn County Historical Museum to the beautifully preserved Moyer House, constructed in 1881, enjoying reenactments along the way. Please keep in mind, the reenactments along the way will portray the history, attitudes and customs of 1918. Albany Civic Theater "Annie"
